Toyota – FT-HS Concept

Toyota FT HS Concept
Performance vehicle segment had been put on hold, while increase in electric vehicle development took over many auto manufacturers. However Toyota is embarking on a new direction by maintaining the essence of sports car at the same time being friendly to the environment. The hybrid V6 3.5L engine is scheduled to produces around 400 horsepower and 0 to 60 will be in the vicinity of 4 seconds. Two by two seating arrangement is similar to orthodox sports cars from Toyota and when the roof top is brought down, it turns into a two seater. Aggressive styling shows elements from the past sports car whilst giving an indication of Toyota’s future.

Maserati Kubang Concept

Maserati Kubang Concept
Maserati has unveiled its SUV concept, the Kubang, at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Interestingly, this is the Italian luxury automaker’s second SUV concept — the first edition, also called the Kubang, was shown in Detroit back in 2003. Fast forward eight years, Maserati is now part of the Fiat group, which means the brand can borrow the SUV architecture from sister companies Chrysler and Jeep. And even though the Kubang is built on a Jeep Grand Cherokee platform, Maserati insists everything else — the V-8 engine, eight-speed automatic transmission, suspension and brakes — has remained in-house.

Volvo Concept You

Volvo Concept You
Volvo unveiled its Concept You this week at the Frankfurt Motor Show, intended as a precursor to the brand’s next large sedan as well as a signal that four-cylinder engines will be the standard in all future Volvo vehicles. Notwithstanding the attractive fastback styling and suicide rear doors, it’s the car’s interior that has people buzzing. The steering wheel is equipped with panels the driver can use to manipulate a screen, located directly behind the wheel, that displays basic driving information like speed and a map of the car’s trajectory. A touch interface on the center console can be activated just by looking in its direction. An infrared sensor detects eye or hand movements and brings up the system’s control mode. With the merest touch of a finger, one can control climate levels, adjust audio settings or check through safety issues. See video and additional images of the Concept You following the jump.
